Clearing the land, now some views

Yes we are working like crazy to get ourselves ready for the winter, We have repaired the roof in the little house as best we can, our first rains showed us where the leaks were, sieve like is the best description I can give. Tony has re-built the chimney stack, lined the flu and installed a lovely wood burner, it gives off plenty of heat and the cats adore it. We have made three rooms habitable, a living room, kitchen and bedroom/computer room also a bathroom as yet to be plumed in. We have electric, water and heating with the wood burner so all is well. I have decorated all the rooms after removing oak trees, ferns, brambles and ivy, Tony has repaired the floors and wired in plug sockets and lights, he is now building us a log shed. We have made a temporary roof over the next room to make a tool stroke (at the moment they are stored in the bathroom).

Outside we have cleared a lot of land and started a garden, planted some veg, salad and herbs, A drop in the ocean but we are getting there.

The animals love it and the dogs have lost loads of weight just running around, the cats explore everything and have caught a fair few mice. We still have the owls, loads of beautiful bird’s woodpeckers, buzzards, Kestrels, Jays, Robins, Blue Tits etc.

We also have beautiful red squirrels, hares and goodness knows what else.

The locals are very nice and helpful so all in all we are fine.

Tony has finally managed to get onto the internet so have updated our site with photo’s and news.

New car, well a Kango, it gets us around and can hold quite a lot!
