Updates as and when time is available.

January - February 2014

January - February Weather: Yes more storms but in between mild and sunny days, so outside and on with the south wall. I know Christmas pictures but the last update did not have any, and we do celebrate. With the family around and work stopping for a few days. Josh is not on a diet he is just starting, but Jake has come with his girl friend Gwendoline, she is French and I think very brave, a good time had by all.
Clear house main Still back to work first up the left hand side lintel, thanks to Simon for his help, so bit by bit, inch by inch its up.

Gerry Has started inside on the living room wall which requires raking out, cleaning and the pointing. When each day we have rain she will continue as this will take sometime, I will have to repair the ride on's we purchased second hand last year. I think both will take sometime. When the weather is good we will be outside sorting, cleaning stone ready for the odd days we can build outside.

As the wall goes up Gerry is following behind pointing and treating the hardwood soffit boards.

Well with the help of Simon and Daniel we now have to bring up the last two lintels. One is very large to go above the top bedroom door, but bit by bit floor by floor up they come and safely put in place, a great day to have completed moving all the main lintels, some just under a ton, just several hundred stone to go up. It should look very different when completed and the scaffolding is down.
Thanks, Son's.

Gerry has completed the last of the pointing inside just a final clean up to do.
Outside we have been working on the south wall with the lintels up we are bashing on every day we can, it is protected round here from the wind and sometimes with the sunny days it feels like spring.
The only thing, as in the UK rain it has been very heavy and unfortunately Simon has lost his lake but many as the UK have lost homes and it is very sad.

Next two months we will finish the south wall, move round the corner to complete the west facing gable end and yes! take down the scaffolding.
