Next clean up the main hallway so we can tape, plaster and paint the
cellings.
With everything moved out, with the exception of the drinks fridge and
freezer we are ready for the tower scaffolding, Hum, well the sun is
out, lets move that stone lintel! |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
Well as we need the tower sections that are outside we have to make a
decision, drop the lintel back to the ground, sorry not in my nature so
jack by jack block by block and a bit of crow bar work it is in. Picture
on the right just showing the beam we used on the inside of the window
to attach the chain hoist.
So down with the towers, inside and up again for the hallway.
Here comes Gerry, where she will spend the next few weeks, taping,
plastering and painting. |

So first job in the hall is to complete the stone work around the main
roof trusses. So stone and cement hauled up and built in. Not much room
up here but at least its warm. So now all filled in Gerry can start on
the taping and plastering, again like the kitchen, 3 coats of plaster,
rubbing down between and then 3 coats of paint.
Outside it has changed cold and quite a bit of snow.

Gerry is now well on the way with the celling, working her way around
the beams.

 |
 |
Next month Finishing up the hall celling and then whenever possible more
stone to cut and move for the south wall.
We have also some fallen trees to sort out which have been down for many
years, but oak is good, and well seasoned, just need to access it before
the brambles come back.
