Then along came Daniel, the coverture to add the batons guttering and slates, a lot of slates....

Slates supplied by.

Within the first day one side had the battens and the guttering done, what a team. Then inside the week the first thousand or so slates on.
Mean while Brain moves on with all the work inside, I must admit his work is exceptional and when you look back at the number of holes he has repaired with Ludo he has achieved so much this month.
With the help of the stone mason, Brian Evans and his helper Ludo...

Roof covering all done in two weeks, zinc guttering all soldered up and down pipes in place, very good idea the French guttering as you can pitch ladders on the gutter if you need to gain access to the roof also it lasts so much longer.

What have we been doing, well making tea, oh yes and... clearing more land and building dry stone walls, more clearing and cleaning up timber, nails out so we can use it turn all the old oak flooring and beams into doors.

Gerry Pointing and raking out old joints.

Now Brian and Ludo are filling in the last walls inside to the top of the plaster board. Also the outside missing stone, where Gerry has now started pointing.... this building will take sometime but do it now while the scaffolding is up.
Left  the roof inside seems such along way up, and it is! some planks have been left for access so April will be the time to start the tape on the joints and plastering...OH. Adding the detail vent pipes for the foss (sewage system) and satellite cables which are all hidden inside in the stone work, 8 in this one and a spare few just in case.
Some pile of wood to be sorted and de-nailed. Some nails take a while...

Floor in the computer room (Alex's) is now at last under way, although still waiting for electric to be connected that side of the house.

With still more stone to sort out, some times it never ending, but the pile is going down, as the weather improves we hope to sort out much of this in the spring / summer. Below the first dry stone wall is complete, only a few hundred to go.
